Industrial sites on long term lease alloted to 12 ent'preneurs

Industrial sites on long-term lease were today alloted to 12 entrepreneurs at Polagam near Karaikal by Industries and Revenue Minister M O H F Shah Jahan, as part of a special drive for speedy industrialisation of Puducherry and its outlying regions,
A release from the Puducherry Industrial Promotion, Development and Investment Corporation said here that site would enable the entrepreneurs launch their units and that their total investment would be around Rs 250 crore.
Handing over the orders of allotment of sites to the entrepreneurs, Shah Jahan said there was a special drive to ensure fast industrialisation of Puducherry and its outlying regions.

The Polagam industrial site would help entrepreneurs who would generate employment opportunities to not less than 500 youths of the region, he said.
He also detailed the special steps taken under the new Industrial policy to attract investors, special packages for women entrepreneurs and also entrepreneurs belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Tribes and Differently abled categories.
