Jharkhand government today said that it would initiate talks with Bihar at the Chief Secretary level to resolve the division of assets of industrial units under Bihar State Industrial Development Corporation (BSIDC).
On the direction of Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Prasad Singh said the government would initiate the CS level talks between the two states and would try to settle the matter within two months.
His reply came following a call attention motion by Marxist Coordination Committee MLA Arup Chatterjee on division of assets at the earliest to revive factories based in Jharkhand.
Chatterjee said early distribution of assets could help revive at least 10 factories which had been closed 20 years ago.
In its reply, the government admitted that the division of assets under the BSIDC could not take place after Jharkhand was carved out from Bihar on November 15, 2000 though meetings at various levels had taken place.
