"Industrialisation is important for the country, but not by snatching the rights of the poor," Scindia told reporters when asked about the alleged forcible land acquisition by the Madhya Pradesh government in Katni district of the state for a thermal power plant.
Terming the Madhya Pradesh government as "insensitive" towards the project-affected people, Scindia said that even during the Jal Satyagraha in Harda district, a minister had termed the agitation as "drama", which, he said was not proper.
The Union Minister also termed as "unfortunate" the allegation by Madhya Pradesh BJP chief Prabhat Jha against the Scindia family that government land was encroached by them in Shivpuri district and added that the issue dated back to a period when he was not even born.
"Secondly, it is also unfortunate on the part of Jha that a serious person like him had levelled such allegations without any substance," he said.
"Jha must be aware of the fact that Scindia family had given land to the government and not vice versa," he added.
The state BJP President had alleged sometime back that Scindia family had encroached a large tract of land (600 bigha-nearly 200-300 acre) in Shivpuri district.
