Besides, it said, giving the crucial Parliament Affairs Ministry to seasoned politician Kamal Nath would ensure smooth functioning of Parliament that will pave way for implementation of key economic reforms.
"Involvement of senior minister Kamal Nath for floor management in Parliament would help in passage of several pending crucial bills. It is certainly a welcome step," Assocham Secretary General D S Rawat said.
Urban Development Minister Nath, a seasoned Congress leader from Madhya Pradesh, has also been given the responsibility of Parliamentary Affairs.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament was almost washed out because of a stand-off between the government and the Opposition.
CII Director General Chandrajeet Banerjee said: "It is good to see a mix of new faces in the council of ministers. It is a good balance between youth and experienced faces."
Ficci President R V Kanoria said he was happy to see important portfolios of power and corporate affairs being given to young ministers.

Jyotiraditya Scindia has been upgraded to the rank of Minister of State for Power (Independent Charge) and Sachin Pilot to Minister of State for Corporate Affairs (Independent Charge).
