Infant found in garbage dump; dies on way to hospital

An infant was found alive in a garbage dump near police lines here who died while being taken to hospital, police said today.
The baby boy was found yesterday in the garbage dump by the passersby when they heard his cries, they said.
The infant was taken to the district hospital where doctors declared him dead, police said.
