Army personnel detected suspicious movement of militants along LoC in forward area of Bhimbergali area in Poonch sector around 0845 hours, Public Relation Officer (Defence) S N Acharya said here.
Troops challenged them and opened fire resulting in exchanges, he said, adding that the exchanges continued for over some time forcing them to escape.
There was no loss of life or damage to the property, he said.
