Infosys inducts John Etchemendy as Independent Board Member

IT services firm Infosys today said it has appointed John W Etchemendy to its Board as an Independent Member.
Etchemendy is Provost of Stanford University and Patrick Suppes Family Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences.
He is also a faculty member of the Symbolic Systems Program and a senior researcher at the Center for the Study of Language and Information (CSLI).

Inksedge raises $1.5mn from NEA, Pinnacle Ventures and others * Inksedge, an online provider of personalised and designer Indian stationery, today said it has closed a USD 1.5 million seed funding round, led New Enterprise Associates (NEA).
This round also saw participation from Pinnacle Ventures, Anand Rajaraman's Milliways Ventures and angel investors including Nickhil Jakatdar, Gokul Rajaram, Mark Perry, and Anil Kamath, Inksedge said in a statement.

Launched in India in October this year, Inksedge plans to use the funds for marketing, fulfillment infrastructure and to launch new products including a wedding paper collection in 2015 as it looks to tap into the fragmented USD 1 billion offline segment.

Snapdeal parters international film Bhopal-A Prayer for Rain * Online marketplace Snapdeal.Com today said it has tied up with feature film Bhopal - A prayer for Rain.
Snapdeal will offer selected products to shop and donate which will directly reach the survivors through the NGO Bhopal Medical Appeal, it said in a statement.
The film, produced by Sahara One Media and Enterainment Ltd, stars Martin Sheen, Kal Penn and Mischa Barton and will hit theatres on December 5.

Krishna Thulsi ayurvedic soap launched
* Aiming to expand their footprint in the growing market for skin care products in Kerala, beauty care major Cholayil group has launched Krishna Thulasi ayurvedic soap claimed to be completely made with natural ingredients, targetting new age customers.
The group is targetting sales of 10 crore soaps this year in Kerala through its network of 50,000 retail stores. There are also plans to export the soap to the Malaysian market where the products have a strong foothold, Jaya Devi Chaolayil, Director of Research and Development, Cholayil Private Ltd, told reporters at Kochi.
