Taking a serious note of the waving of flags belonging to Pakistan, Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and ISIS by a group of youths in Srinagar today, Jammu-based political leaders said that the issue was taking "an alarming proportion".
"There is an international conspiracy going on against India for the past 25 years," BJP MLA from Sunderbani Ravinder Raina said about the incident.
The leader termed those waving Pakistan flags as "paid agents of Pakistan" and said that this was an attempt to create disturbance in the Kashmir valley.
"Such acts must not be tolerated. These people must be booked under sedition and strict action must be taken against them," Raina said.
Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, said that it was high time that the government stopped talking and start acting.
"This is the limit, the government should act, mere rhetoric will not do, and statements don't work. These are people who are indulging in the act of sedition and waging a war against India and its time to act," Singh said.

Congress spokesman Ravinder Sharma pointed out that the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state proved futile.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir had lots of expectations from the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he would speak something on the security situation in the valley and the situation along the border, but he dejected the people of the state," he said.
The Prime Minister visited the state today to commemorate the birth centenary of late leader Girdhari Lal Dogra.
Sharma said that waving of Pakistan and ISIS flags has become a "regular feature in the state" and the state and the central government was sending a wrong signal not only to the state but the rest of the country.
As soon as Friday prayers got over at Jama Masjid in the Nowhatta area of Srinagar, a group of youths today waved the controversial flags of Pakistan, Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and ISIS and raised pro-separatist and pro-Pakistani slogans, officials said.
