Injured Russian man in video fell from tree: Police

A video of an injured Russian man surrounded by policemen emerged today, following which it was alleged that he had been thrashed by a mob for stealing from a shop at Connaught Place here.
However, the police said there was no complaint in the matter and that the Russian man got injured as he fell from a tree.
They added that the Russian national had started running after putting on a new pair of shoes at a footwear store.
He was chased by the staff of the shop, the police said, adding that panicked, the man had climbed atop a tree.
