Senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala accused the ruling BJP of extending benefits to their favourites in purchase of benches.
"The benches which have been installed are commonly available in the market ranging from Rs 1,900 to Rs 2,200, but these are being purchased for anything between Rs 4,500 to Rs 5,200," he alleged.
He said the government has been purchasing about 50 to 100 benches for a village or town depending upon the population.
"At some places, you will find these benches even on roadside where no one uses them. What is shocking is that these benches are being bought from the firms of the BJP MLAs, leaders or their kin," Abhay alleged while talking to mediapersons here.
