The INLD members, who were later joined by party chief and former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, slammed the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government for allegedly muzzling the voice of the opposition.
The suspended MLAs of the INLD, whose MLA Mohd Illyas was made Speaker of the mock assembly, raised the issue of Gopal Goyal Kanda's involvement in Geetika Sharma suicide case and Rohtak's 'Apna Ghar' scandal and other issues during the session.
After the session got over, a delegation of INLD MLAs led by Chautala submitted a memorandum to Governor Jagannath Pahadia, to apprise him of the "threat to parliamentary democracy by the systematic muzzling of the opposition by the brute majority of the ruling Congress party".
The INLD alleged that "the Vidhan Sabha instead of being the forum for discussing and debating public policies, has become a vehicle to approve the arbitrary decisions of the government".
Later, when asked to comment on the memorandum submitted by the INLD, Hooda claimed that the opposition has made its habit to create hindrances in the development of the state.
Hooda, while referring to the mock session held by the INLD, said that they had been sitting on similar "dharnas" for the last eight years.
"They have no creative suggestion to make. Today when the session of the State Assembly began, I suggested in the House that in case they (INLD MLAs) regret what had happened yesterday, they should be called in to attend the proceedings of the House," he said. (MORE)
