In a letter written to Chairperson of National Commission for Scheduled Castes, INLD, Secretary General, Ajay Chautala said, "I wish to bring to your kind notice the plight of destitute, children, girls, women especially those belonging to weaker and underprivileged sections of the society in Haryana and disappointingly callous attitude of state government towards these incidents..."

Chautala alleged that there had been a significant rise in cases related to "exploitation of children, girls and women during the present regime and the government has failed to protect their rights."

He cited the recent case in which 120 inmates mostly girls were rescued from a shelter home in Rohtak, which was run by an NGO and where some of inmates were allegedly sexually abused.

"We have reason to believe that high profile politicians and bureaucrats may be involved in this scandal...And hence an impartial inquiry should be made," the INLD MLA demanded.

INLD also referred the gangrape of a Dalit girl studying in women's university in Sonepat on May 16.
