Innovative practices for Make in India intiative

Adoption of innovative practices using critical behavioural traits like creativity coupled with technological abilities can play a major role in 'Make in India' initiative, experts said.
Certain human behaviors drive innovation and organisations can leverage these patterns to create a culture of innovation among employees, eminent speakers said at a two-day national conference on "Innovative HR practices In New Age Organisations" that concluded here yesterday.
Mere technological competencies will not drive innovation and critical behavioral attributes like creativity, sense of urgency, reframed imagination and ability to convert are equally important, said Umesh Hota - President HR of Hindalco Industries Ltd in his key-note address.
Emphasising on innovation and its impact on different organisations, he said innovative HR practices and certain critical behaviours can play a significant role in translating the "Make In India" initiative a success.
Hota said the role of human resource function is very critical in identifying and developing these behavioral attributes, he said.
Among others Damodar Suar, professor and head of social sciences of IIT Kharagpur, Parameswar Nayak, director of BIMTECH, Bhubaneswar and K K Sinha, dean and advisor BIMTECH, NOIDA also spoke on the significance of innovative HR practices in the emerging scenario.
