INOX India to supply equipment for fusion reactor project

INOX India has bagged a contract to supply multi-purpose pipe transfer lines for the experimental Thermo-nuclear Fusion Reactor (ITER) coming up in France.
The company is into making of cryogenic liquid storage and transport tanks.
INOXCVA, a subsidiary of INOX India Ltd, would execute the order. The installation is expected in 2019.
"INOX India ltd ... Has won a contract to supply and install multi-process pipe transfer lines with vacuum jacket, at the world's largest experimental Thermo-nuclear Fusion Reactor, coming up in Cadarche, France," the company said in a statement today.
Financial details were not disclosed.
ITER is an international collaborative project worth 13 billion euros and contributors for it are India, China, European Union, Japan, Korea, Russia and USA.
"Upon completion ITER will be the world's largest experimental facility to demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power," the statement said.
ITER India, which is a part of the Institute for Plasma Research located in Gujarat, is the nodal agency responsible for the Indian portion of the project.
