Mani's samples had been sent to the Regional Chemical Examiner's Laboratory at Kakkanad in Kochi for testing after his death and the report came out today.
The 'very dangerous' insecticide 'Chlorpyrifos' was found in the samples, Joint Chemical Examiner K Muralidharan Nair told PTI.
Methyl and Ethyl alcohol contents were also found in the actor's samples, he said.
"Government will take a decision after getting to know the views of the family on the issue," he said.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the DGP has been asked to conduct a foolproof probe.
"All new revelations will be inquired into..The inquiry report will soon be submitted in court," he added.
Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes President Innocent also sought a probe and said the guilty should not be spared.
45-year-old Mani, who had carved a niche for himself in the Malayalam and Tamil film industry, was undergoing treatment for liver and kidney diseases at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences for some time when he died on March 6.
Meanwhile, the actor's wife Nimme said, "We have doubts in his death." She also rubbished reports that there were some family problems.
Asked if the actor had any enemies, she replied in the negative.
Since some of his friends had gathered at the outhouse 'Padi', they would have encouraged him to have liquor, she said.
"Mani chettan will not commit suicide. He had all the luxury now," she said about the actor, who had risen to great heights in South Indian films from humble beginnings.
Police had yesterday questioned a TV anchor and has taken into custody three of Mani's aides who were with him shortly before his death.
