The French Institute in India will join the International Yoga Day celebrations here in which they will present 'asanas' named after animals alongside their French names.
Institut Francais which aims to facilitate Indo-French exchanges through cultural engagements, will hold 'Get Into Paws-Mode' which it claimed as being a "unique take" on yoga.
"Numerous yogasanas are inspired from animals, such as the cat pose, the cow pose, the downward-facing dog pose.
"Adding a French touch to the event, the French Institute will present 'asanas' named after animals alongside the French names for these animals.
"Through this simple activity of a yoga session taught in French, participants will exercise both their physical agility and their French language skills," the French Embassy here said,
The event will take place on June 21 from 6.45 AM to 8 AM at the French Institute campus here.
The main event of the second International Yoga Day is being held in Chandigarh while similar programmes will be held in the national capital.
