Int Yoga Day: Isha Foundation offers free sessions for a month

Commemorating first International Yoga Day on June 21, the city-based Isha Foundation today announced specially designed yoga sessions for people free of cost across the world throughout this month.
Isha Head Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev had specially designed a series of accessible and doable capsules for general public and these 5-minute practices are centered on six themes: Health, Peace, Love, Success, Joy and Inner Exploration, a Isha release said here.
Each theme offers a short background and a simple practice that can make a significant difference to the well being of the practitioner and about 35,600 volunteers had been trained to conduct sessions to transmit these practices across the globe, it said.
The ground events would be conducted in one lakh locations throughout the globe, targeting 50 million to 100 million people, the release said.
On the International Yoga Day, Sadguru will be initiating thousands of people into simple yogic practices at YMCA Grounds, Chennai, it said.
The foundation would also hold celebrations at various locations. In Puducherry, Chief Minister N Rangasamy would attend the function while in Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu Union Minister of State Pon Radhakrishnan will be present.
Isha has partnered with several corporate companies like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, TVS group, Murugappa Group, Bharat Matrimony and many more, where yoga will be taught to all the employees.
On June 20, Sadguru would conduct a session in Bengaluru, where Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be a part of the celebrations, the release said.
