Intense cold continued to prevail in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, with Keylong recording the lowest minimum temperature at minus 14.3 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district registered a low of minus 2.9 degrees Celsius, while Manali and Bhuntar in Kullu shivered at minus 3 and minus 0.8 degrees Celsius respectively, said Shimla Meteorological Centre Director Manmohan Singh.
The minimum temperature in Kufri, Shimla and Dalhousie was 1, 3.6 and 4.2 degrees Celsius respectively, he said.
Sundernagar recorded a low 0.1 degree Celsius, followed by Solan (0.8), Chamba (1.6), Dharamshala (2.6) and Palampur (3), Singh said.
The minimum temperature in Mandi, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Nahan was 3.2, 5, 6.8, 7 and 8.5 degrees Celsius respectively, he said.
The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Bilaspur at 21 degrees Celsius, Singh added.
The MeT department has forecast dry and cold weather in the coming days, he said.
