Special Cell of Delhi Police, working on a series of unsolved highway robberies in Delhi NCR, on Friday arrested Ashok Nagar resident Lokesh from Seemapuri underpass, who was involved in a loot of Rs 18.5 lakh from employees of a motorcycle agency in Pandav Nagar in October 2014," said DCP (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
"Following interrogation of Lokesh, his two associates Rahul and Shiv Kumar were arrested by us from Wajirabad Road and several firearms including a revolver stolen from a retired army captain in Meerut, were recovered," he said.
The accused Rahul, Gulab Malik, Salman Malik were involved in looting of a truck loaded with 12 ton of TMT iron rods parked near DC office in Kapashera, along with their three other associates on August 18 last year.
"The looted truck loaded with iron rods was recovered by the police from the warehouse of a scrap dealer in Baghpat and Rahul suspected that one of their associate Hajari could be identified by the scrap dealer. They then made a sinister plan to kill him," Yadav said.
Rahul's associate Sachin who took part in several crimes including dacoity at the retired army captain's house in Kankerkhera (Merrut) and a couple of highway robberies on Delhi-Rajasthan highway along with the gang, was also caught by the police.
