Inter-state gang of robbers busted in Haryana

The police today busted an inter-state gang of robbers and arrested the five accused allegedly involved in various incidents of kidnapping, loot and murder from Sonipat district.
The accused have been identified as Vikram alias Ghussi, a resident of Housing Board Colony, Sonipat, Neeraj, Rinku, and Jasbir, residents of village Siwah district Panipat and Mannu Sharma, a resident of Hansi, DIG Sonipat Hardeep Singh Doon said.
All of them have confessed to their involvement in 12 incidents.
Since April 2016, the gang had stolen various cars including two Toyota Fortuner, a Mahindra PickUp, a Honda Amaze, a Maruti WagonR, a Hyundai Creta and a Honda City from various places in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh. The accused used to sell the stolen vehicles in Srinagar, Doon said.
The accused were also involved in several incidents of looting ATMs.
The police has recovered two .9 mm pistols, three .32 bore pistols, live cartridges of 2.9 mm and 15.32 bore, a sharp-edged weapon and a stolen car from their possession.
Doon said the kingpin of the gang Vikram, who had allegedly murdered a police constable in 2007, had jumped the parole in 2008 and since then was at large.
Vikram had committed a loot in Murthal in February 2016 and shot a person in Model Town, Karnal in March 2016. Separate cases have been registered against him in these incidents at police stations in Murthal and Karnal, Doon said.
