Inter-state gang selling luxury cars by fraud busted

A police team from Mumbai has seized 20 luxury cars from Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh allegedly sold by an inter-state gang, based in Maharashtra, police said.
The gang has allegedly sold over 100 luxury cars worth nearly Rs 6 crore through fraudulent means by taking them on rent for 11 months by one Car Kings Tours and Travel Director, Irfan Mansoori, Maharashtra Police Crime Branch official Raghunath Mhale told reporters here yesterday.
Maharashtra Police have so far arrested four persons in this connection in Mumbai. Khargone district's Balsamud area resident and an accused in the case Irfan is absconding, he said.
Beside selling these cars in Khargone, the gang sold out the vehicles in Indore, cities of Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and in number of other districts of the country, the official said.
As many as 100 people have filed complaint of cheating in Mumbai's Agripada and Saki Naka police stations under IPC's section 420 (cheating) in this regard following which Mumbai Police exposed the racket.
He said that efforts are on to seize remaining cars.
