Inter-state robbery gang busted

With the arrest of five youths, Gurgaon police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang involved in over 50 thefts of jewellery, laptops, cars and other valuables in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Manish, Sagar, Mangal Sarkar, Mohmmed Jamil and Alok Kumar, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested from a market in Sector 31, Joint Commissioner Police (Crime) Vivek Sharma said.
34 laptops, four LCD/LED televisions, two home-theatre systems, two cars and a large quantity of gold and silver ornaments were recovered from their possession, Sharma said.
Kumar used to sell the stolen goods at throwaway prices at a computer shop he ran in Bhargava Place, he said.
The accused, who are well-educated, also used to sell the stolen items online on different portals, he said.
