Interact with people, J-K CM tells NC ministers
Press Trust of India Srinagar Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today directed ministers belonging to his National Conference to interact with people at party headquarters to get an insight into their day-to-day issues and sort out their problems.
"NC Working President Omar Abdullah has directed ministers from National Conference to attend the party headquarters at Nawa-e-Subh Complex in Srinagar and asked them to be available to general public and party workers in order to gain insight into their day-to-day issues and alleviate their grievances," a spokesman of the ruling party said.
The direction to the NC ministers came two weeks after the party was routed in Lok Sabha polls by opposition PDP. Of the six Lok Sabha seats in the state, PDP won Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla, while BJP won Jammu, Udhampur and Ladakh.
"This is a serious initiative directed at bringing the ministers closer to the public. National Conference is committed to enhancing its grassroots connections and Omar's initiative directing ministers to regularly attend NC headquarters is a significant step in that direction," the spokesman added.
