Interactive session held on Criminal Justice System in J&K

In order to provide a better delivery of justice to the future generations, experts on the Criminal Justice System today held an interactive session with senior police officers here.
Senior professor in the criminal justice system at University of Louisiana, US, Robert D Hanser, in his presentation, highlighted different aspects of improving the system that suit the requirements in diverse cultures and ethnicity.
While, Diana Bruns, research expert in the University of Missouri, US, spoke on educational qualities and police performance besides domestic violence against women. She said her study has revealed that out of 15,000 police departments in US, only 285 are headed by women Police officers.
In his opening remarks, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, A G Mir said "technical advances have made things somewhat complicated for criminal justice system, so it is imperative to understand the criminal justice system of other countries as well".
The deliverance in criminal justice system can be made more productive by focusing on speedy, fair and transparent investigations and trials, Vice Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir Prof Mehraj-u-Din said.
