Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau acquitted the youth of the charges of kidnapping and raping the girl which were filed on the father's complaint after the couple got married in February this year.
"I hereby hold that the girl being a major and having eloped with the accused of her own and thereafter having married him voluntarily, the charges so framed against the accused on the complaint of her father do not stand substantiated and proved and the accused is hereby acquitted for the same," the Judge said.
After pronouncement of the judgement, the girl informed the court that she apprehends danger to her life from her family who is against her relation with North West Delhi-based Vinod Kumar as they belonged to different castes.
The girl also said that till her husband Vinod who is in judicial custody is released from the jail, she may be sent to the house of her sister-in-law here.
The court directed the station house officer of Shahbad Dairy police station here to safety take the girl to her to matrimonial house.
"The constitutional and statutory rights of the girl have to be protected at any cost...In case of any threat or problem created by anybody which includes the father and the family of the girl, immediate action as per law will be taken against them under intimation to this court," it said.
A case was lodged against Vinod by the girl's father in February this year alleging that he had kidnapped his minor daughter to compel her for marriage. He had also alleged that Vinod had repeatedly raped his daughter for 10 days when he had confined her in his native place in Uttar Pradesh.

Police had then recovered the couple from Mau district in Uttar Pradesh and while Vinod was taken into custody, the girl was sent with her father.
Later, it was revealed in the ossification report of the girl that she was not a minor. (More)
