"The court granted interim protection to Anil Virwani, her husband, till May 12," said Public Prosecutor Nileema Kasture.
Agnihotri, who starred in the 1981 blockbuster 'Ek Duje Ke Liye' among other films, filed a complaint with Worli police here on March 14, accusing Virwani of domestic violence.
The 54-year-old actress, who stays with her architect-businessman husband and the actor son Tanuj, said in the complaint that she had been suffering the violence at Virwani's hands for a long time.
Virwani approached the sessions court yesterday seeking pre-arrest bail.
Special judge Vrushali Joshi is likely to hear his plea on May 12. In the meantime, the court restrained police from arresting him.
