The business generated saw a quantum jump of Rs 300 crore from the last edition of Stonemart held in 2013, Principal Secretary, Industries and Chairperson of Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS), Veenu Gupta, said at the closing ceremony today.
Gupta said that there was a distinct feeling of euphoria with as many as 18,000 business visitors having come to the Stonemart for interaction, network and transaction sales.
Furthermore, as many as 500 foreign buyers came from 50 countries and 500 architects attended the first ever Jaipur Architecture Festival (JAF), and in all, there were 425 stalls, she said.
The Vice-Chairman of CDOS, Ashok Dhoot, said that the mart was an outstanding success and expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders for making the event a grand success.
He said that the fair had become force to reckon with in the global arena.
The next edition of India StoneMart in the year 2017 will be held from February 2-5.
