Invalid vote: will consult with advocates, says Karuna

DMK chief M Karunanidhi today hinted that his party might seek legal recourse regarding the one invalid vote which was responsible for bringing down his daughter Kanimozhi's votes to 31 in today's Rajya Sabha polls held here.
Kanimozhi was among the six candidates elected for Rajya Sabha voting for which was held. She was expected to garner 32 votes, including the five from Congress, but had to settle for 31 as one vote was declared invalid.
The DMK chief was also generous in thanking Congress for its support.
"I dedicate my thanks to those alliance parties, especially Congress and Putihya Tamizhagam and MMK," he said adding Kanimozhi was "dutybound" to serve the country by highlighting the party's ideals in the Upper House.
Responding to reporters' queries on the one invalid vote, he said "will consult advocates and decide.
