Ponnala is among the six Andhra ministers who were issued notices by Supreme Court in March, seeking their stand on the charge about their alleged role in issuing certain Government Orders based on which the CBI filed cases against some industrialists and also Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The CBI charged that some industrial houses got benefited with the Government Orders during Y S Rajasekhara Reddy regime and invested in his son Jagan Reddy's firms as quid-pro-quo.
On the present situation in the State where some prominent industrialists were either arrested or charged with cheating cases, the Minister said the encouragement given by the government cannot be taken for granted.
"People who availed the opportunity from the government cannot take it for granted. They have to abide by the conditions of the MOU. So if the MOU conditions are not met, the government has role to play (take action)," Ponnala said.
On the sidelines of the curtain raiser of second edition of annual IT summit - Advantage AP2012, the minister said the encouragement cannot be taken as means of getting away with government property. Encouragement and assistance is given to investors for creating employment in the state.
On the notice issued by Supreme Court, Ponnala said, "We worked in the ambit of law and never crossed rules and regulations and will respect courts. We will respect law. I cannot say more than this."
Meanwhile, the state government will organise the two-day 'Advantage AP2012' IT conclave from June 21. As many as 1,500 delegates from all over the world are expected to attend the event, Ponnala said.
