IOC plans bottling plant in Punjab

State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) today said it will set up an automated bottling plant in Punjab at an investment of Rs 110 crore.
Punjab government today handed over allotment letter and pre-feasible clearances to IOC here for setting up the plant in the state.
IOC has proposed to come up with this project at 30 acres of land at Goindwal which falls in Tarn Taran district of the state.
"The proposed plant will have bottling capacity of 60,000 metric tonne per annum," IOC, Executive Director (Punjab state office), P K Das said here today.
"The investment in this project is expected to be Rs 105-110 crore excluding land cost which could be about Rs 30 crore," Das said.
"If the demand increases, the capacity of new plant can be raised 1,20,000 MT," he further said.

The bottling capacity of IOC in Punjab is at present 3,60,000 metric tonne as against the requirement of 4,20,000 MT.
Currently, IOC has two bottling plants at Nabha and Jalandhar with total capacity of 3,60,000 MT per annum.
"We expect to get Board approval for this project in next 3 to 6 months. Thereafter, it will take 18-24 months for commissioning of the project," he said.
The company has proposed to set up another bottling plant in Bathinda with an investment of Rs 105 crore, having capacity of 60,000 MT, he said.
