Irani meets innovators of 'in-residence' programme

HRD Minister Smriti Irani today met eight scholars of an 'in-residence' programme which seeks to encourage creative and innovative potential of people and encourage grass-root innovations.
The programme was launched by President Pranab Mukherjee last year.
It provides an environment to grassroots innovators in Rashtrapati Bhawan to work on a project in hand and take their innovative ideas forward, said an official statement.
Besides, it provides mentoring and support so that the innovations can be used for the progress and welfare of the society.
