The railways' catering and tourism arm IRCTC announced a special tour package, including air travel, covering major Hindu pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra on Friday.
The all-inclusive tour package of Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) of the duration of five nights and six days covers Shirdi, Shani Shingnapur, Ghrishneshwar Jyotirlinga, Ellora Caves and Goa.
"Shirdi, a small town in Maharashtra, was where saint Sai Baba lived till his samadhi in 1918. It is counted among the major Hindu pilgrimages which attract thousands of devotees from all over India. The special package covers the Sai Baba temple and Shani Shingnapur along with the UNESCO world heritage site of Ellora Caves and Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga," a statement from IRCTC said.
The package has been priced at Rs 34,880 per person on twin sharing basis. This includes air tickets (Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Goa and Goa-Delhi), AC accommodation at hotels in Shirdi and Goa (3 star category), all transfers and sightseeing by AC buses, breakfasts and dinners at the hotels, insurance, services of an IRCTC Tour Manager and GST along other applicable taxes.
A total of 30 seats are available in this fixed group departure tour. This tour package can be booked from IRCTC Offices (PAN India). The same can also be booked online on www.irctctourism.com or through the IRCTC Mobile App.
This is a part of an effort from IRCTC to connect popular sites of pilgrimage. It started the Ramayana Express earlier this year from Delhi to Chennai. This was followed by four more such trains from Rajkot, Jaipur and Madurai. All four trains will cover Ayodhya, which according to the epic, is the birthplace of Lord Ram.
