Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva issued notice to the Department of Telecommunication (DoT), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and Idea Cellular Ltd on the petition, which alleged that both the government authorities were putting the ball in each other's courts.
Delhi resident Anshul Gupta, who appeared in person, said he had written several mails to the DoT, TRAI, the mobile operator and other senior government officers, but no action was taken.
"They say the call records which I provide them do not match. But my grievance has not yet been addressed," the petitioner submitted before the court.
The petitioner claimed that the DoT had asked him to approach the TRAI saying the issue was with the regulator. But when he approached the TRAI, it said it cannot do anything in this matter.
Gupta also alleged that his KYC (Know Your Customer or customer details) informatio was also compromised.
