Irrigation dept official's houses raided

Acting on a tip-off, the ACB sleuths today raided the houses of S Bharati Lakshmi, senior assistant in Pay and Accounts wing in Irrigation Department at Srikakulam, and her relatives and seized properties worth Rs 1.34 crore.
Ranga Raju, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB, said the raids were conducted at houses of Bharati Lakshmi and her relatives at Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Payakarao Peta and Hyderabad.
Bharati Lakshmi allegedly acquired the assets -- disproportionate to her known sources of income -- in her husband's name. She was taken into custody for questioning.
