The opposition BJP today asked the TRS government in Telangana to clarify whether the textile park, proposed to be developed by it at Warangal, is part of the Centre's scheme for textile parks or not.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao laid the foundation stone for the textile park at Warangal yesterday.
"Is the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park part of the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) or not? If yes, Centre would make 40 per cent investment. You would not say no to that," state BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao told reporters here.
He also asked the state government to announce the timeline for execution, the project report and by when the estimated jobs would be realised.
The state government yesterday said it has signed MoUs with 22 companies, which will invest Rs 3,900 crore in the textile park.
The textile park would provide direct employment to 27,000 people and create about 50,000 indirect job opportunities, the state government had said.
