Israel's MASHAV head Gil Haskel begins India visit

Gil Haskel, head of Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), is on an official visit to India beginning today.
Haskel will highlight the achievements of Indo-Israeli Agricultural Project (IIAP) during his visit to this country from December 4 to December 7.
A statement by the Israeli embassy in Delhi said apart from the national capital, he will visit Bengaluru and Mumbai.
"The IIAP is MASHAV's biggest project outside Israel, and it holds a significant portion of our bilateral relations. The success story of our agricultural cooperation is second to none, and it is only the beginning," Ambassador of Israel in India, Daniel Carmon, said.

Haskel will meet state government officials as well those of Union ministry of agriculture and farmer's welfare, and the external affairs ministry.
He will also inaugurate Center of Excellence for flowers in Thally, Tamil Nadu.
Haskel will award two USD 10,000 grants to MASHAV alumni to continue their projects in women and farmer empowerment in India, the statement added.
