Israel's Netanyahu undergoes successful hernia surgery

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has successfully undergone an operation to treat a hernia, his office said today.
Netanyahu, 63, was hospitalised after he complained of abdominal pain and a CT scan discovered the hernia.
He was operated on at Hadasa Ein Karem hospital here yesterday.
Netanyahu's office said in a tweet that the surgery had been successful.
Netanyahu, known by the nickname "Bibi", leads the right-wing Likud Party and has been prime minister since 2009.
He served an earlier term as prime minister from 1996 to 1999.
