Apprehensions about the Anti- Corruption Bureau's plans to conduct raids against Income-Tax officials in Karnataka have been allayed, DirectorGeneral of Income Tax B R Balakrishnan said today.
"The issue was there some three months ago, but it has been resolved. No such thing is happening now," he said after a meeting with state DGP R K Dutta.
ACB Director General of Police M NReddi, too, ruled out the force was pursuing cases of corruptionagainst I-T officials.
"There was no such matter. At least, I have no ideathat we were investigating I-T officials," he said.
Balakrishnan had recently written a letter to the state DGP expressing concern at "the ACB's plans to conduct raids against officials of the I-T department", which is under the Centre's jurisdiction.
While Home Minister R Ramalinga Reddy had dismissed the claim, BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa had accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of "misusing" the ACB to shield himself.

The state home minister had said the ACB knew its jurisdiction and there was no proposal to conduct raids.
