Isuzu motors begins construction work at Sri City
Press Trust of India Tirupati Isuzu, vehicle manufacturer from Japan, today commenced construction work by performing ground breaking ceremony for its new manufacturing facility at Sri City, a Special Economic Zone in Tada situated on the Andha Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border, 120 km from here.
The Rs 3000 crore new facility, providing an employment opportunity for about 3000 persons, would begin its operations by 2016 with a capacity of 1,20,000 units per annum, an official of the company said.
Speaking on the occasion, Takashi Kikuchi, President & Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, said India is a key region in Isuzu's global growth strategy for its emerging markets and an important manufacturing hub in the future.
"Our focus is to accelerate our business and establish Isuzu as an important player in the pickup trucks and utility vehicles market in India," he said.
