"With the new range of pick up trucks, Isuzu aims to target the emerging segment of small and medium business enterprises in Tamil Nadu," Isuzu Motors India said in a statement.
The D-Max Single cab is priced at Rs 5.99 lakh, D-Max Space Cab variant would retail at 6.19 lakh, while the arched deck variant of the truck would be available at Rs 7.09 lakh (all prices-ex-showroom Chennai).
"Tamil Nadu is an important market for us, being the second largest contributor to country's GDP and a progressive state in terms of industry growth, infrastructure development and a strong agricultural base," Isuzu Motors India Managing Director, Takashi Kikuchi said.
D-Max pick-up trucks are propelled by a 2,499 cc engine with capacity to carry a payload of 1.2 ton.
Isuzu Motors India aims to open 60 outlets across India by end of 2015-16. At present, the company has presence across five states including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka.
