Global consultancy firm Gartner today said IT infrastructure spending in the country will rise 3.3 per cent to USD 2.02 billion this year, mainly driven by data centre modernisation initiatives.
"The Indian IT infrastructure market will total USD 2.02 billion in 2015, a 3.3 per cent increase from 2014," Gartner said in a statement.
The IT infrastructure market includes server, storage and networking equipment.
Commenting on the figures, Gartner research director Naveen Mishra said, "The domestic infrastructure market will witness investments primarily fuelled by data centre modernisation initiatives to drive uninterrupted and better quality of service."
He added that the IT infrastructure market will go up to USD 2.29 billion in 2018.
Domestic companies will focus on creating integrated data centres for optimising existing IT assets and delivering non-stop IT services to business, the consultancy said, specifying where it sees the demand coming from.

Storage modernisation and consolidation, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery will result in a 9.23 per cent growth in the storage market to USD 426 million.
However, the servers segment will be a drag on the overall IT infrastructure spend and will witness a 4.77 per cent dip at USD 658 million, it estimated.
