It's dangerous putting yourself down: Demi Lovato
Press Trust of India Los Angeles Singer Demi Lovato feels it can be "very dangerous" putting yourself down and has urged young men and women to grow up feeling confident and empowered.
The 23-year-old "Confident" singer, who has openly battled with eating disorders and negative body image in the past, also said she does still get insecure but admits it can be a good thing as it helps her to stay positive in the end, reported Female First.
"I do have to stay accountable. Because there are people who look up to me for inspiration. There are times when I don't feel confident and I feel insecure about my body. I think what's important is that I walk the walk, I don't just talk the talk. I have to stay accountable.
"It helps me sometimes. Because I can look in the mirror and feel insecure, and then I'm like, 'No, that's not what you stand for. You're confident, you're beautiful, you are enough the way you are.' (But putting yourself down can be) very dangerous. And it's important that young people don't get used to that. That they grow up feeling confident and empowered," she said.
