Noted designer Rick Roy found it quite challenging to do the styling of actress Vidya Balan in her forthcoming film "Begum Jaan".
Though the designer did not divulge details about Vidya's look in the period drama, he said the National Award winning actress will be seen in a very different avatar.
"Vidya plays a madam (of a brothel) in the film and I can't imagine anyone else being Begum Jaan. I can't discuss the looks, but all I can say is she will look like a completely different person in the film," Rick told PTI.
"I can't discuss the looks as it's too early, but I am very excited about the looks," he said.
To design the full wardrobe of each main character and several other junior artists was quite challenging for Rick.
"The biggest challenge was time as it takes months of research and costuming a project of this scale, and I had 15 days from the day I signed till the date we started shooting. It was a crazy thing to do a period film in short time," Rick said.

The designer is thankful to his team for working hard and putting together everything on short notice.
Rick, who worked on the looks of Sonam Kapoor in a song for "Players", Emraan Hashmi's look in "Jannat 2", Malaika Arora Khan in "Housefull 2" and Akshay Kumar in "Gabbar is Back", says he has styled the costumes of "Begum Jaan" as per the script.
"The brief was simple, all we had was the script and the back story of each character. We just came up with looks based on the script," he said.
"I also have an associate working with me on the project who has done the original movie in Bengali, so that was great help. The director is extremely receptive of ideas," he added.
Directed by Srijit Mukherjee, "Begum Jaan" is the Hindi remake of National Award-winning Bengali film "Rajkahini".
Rick made a conscious decision not to see the original Bengali film as he didn't want to be influenced or inspired in anyway.
