Recognising his contributions to power boat racing, the Italian city of Stresa has renamed its waterfront after Dubai's Crown Prince.
The waterfront on Lake Maggiore in northern Italy has been renamed 'Fazza', which is the poetic moniker of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
A placard explaining the meaning of the name in Arabic, English and Italian has been placed at the heart of the waterfront.
The name means a chivalrous person in Arabic, who rushes to help others in times of crisis.
Sheikh Hamdan, 30, is known in Dubai for his support of sports and other activities in the UAE.
Along with his role as Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan is also the chairman of Dubai Executive Council and founder of Skydive Dubai, a premier skydiving location in UAE.
The city of Stresa is gearing up to host the fourth round of the UIM Skydive Dubai XCAT World Powerboat Series, said to be one of the most challenging powerboat racing tournaments in the world.
