The telemedicine facility in the premier health institute JIPMER here has now added Italy to the list of countries it covers.
Already the facility was covering Japan, Korea, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Australia and the UK among others, a release from JIPMER said today.
Professor G Saglio of the University of Turin, Italy, delivered a special talk through the telemedicine programme on 'CML in 2018' organised recently by the department of Medical Oncology on "how to treat chronic myeloid leukemia".
The lecture was followed by case presentations and discussions between JIPMER, a centrally administered institute, and the Italian university, it said.
Director of JIPMER S Vivekanandam said the institute was a regional resource centre for telemedicine for South India.
