The force is deployed at the high altitudes to guard the Indian border with China.
A 15-member team along with other adventure sport enthusiasts will travel from Kandivilli in Mumbai to the Karakoram ranges in the Himalayas on October 24, in a journey spanning about 4,000kms.
"The team, during its journey from sea route (Mumbai) to silk route (Himalayas), will spread the message to conserve the Yak population which is specific to its habitat," an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force spokesperson said.
