Diversified group ITC today said it has bagged mandate from the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to implement its waste management programme in the national capital.
The NDMC-ITC waste management programme is a unique partnership between the Corporates, Government, NGO and Communities aimed at segregation and recycling of waste, ITC said in a statement.
The project is being implemented in six localities of NDMC - Pandara Park, Golf Links, Rabindra Nagar, Jor Bagh, Kaka Nagar and some areas of Chanakya Puri.
"We are confident that NDMC and ITC together will be able to create an enduring behaviour change among the citizens of the capital to further contribute to a Swachh Bharat," ITC Ltd Senior Vice President-Corporate Affairs Anil Rajput said.
As part of the initiative, ITC will train citizens, waste collectors, sanitary inspectors, supervisors and other stakeholders on source segregation and recycling of waste, ITC said.
