"ITC has plans for four food parks in three years and of which work on two is expected to begin this year," Tamil Nadu Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) C V Shankar said while interacting with the media at the city roadshow for its first global investors meet in May.
According to him, food parks are likely to be spread in 25 to 30 acres and would bring in investment of Rs 200 crore to Rs 250 crore each.
The 17 mega food parks are likely to come up in states including Punjab, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Bihar.
