The tax department will hold an eight-day special camp in the national capital to help taxpayers file their Income Tax Returns (ITRs).
The camp will be held at the civic centre I-T building, near Connaught Place, and will be inaugurated on August 24 by CBDT Chairperson Anita Kapur.
It will function till August 31 during office hours, with Saturdays and Sundays, falling between these days, being open.
Special counters, a senior I-T officer said, are being organised to facilitate small tax payers having salary or pension income and help them in filing paper returns.
"Taxpayers may note that for the assessment year 2015-16, corresponding to the financial year 2014-15, e-filing of return of income is mandatory for persons whose total income exceeds Rs 5 lakh or if the return contains a claim for refund. Paper returns in such cases will not be accepted," a statement from the Central Board of Direct Taxes said.
The CBDT is the apex policy-making body of the tax department.

Facilities like helpdesk, assistance of Tax Return Preparers (TRPs), UTI and NSDL counters, banking, tax payment facility, PAN verification counters, drinking water and emergency medical aid will be available at the venue, the department said.
The last date for filing I-T returns for the assessment year 2015-16 and the corresponding financial year 2014-15 is August 31.
"Similar facilitation counters are being set up in other metropolitan cities based on the local requirement," the statement said.
Other category of taxpayers can file their ITRs through the official e-filing website of the department.
