Senior IUML leader and Lok Sabha MP E T Mohammed Basheer today said he had mentioned in his notice that RML authorities "mistreated MPs, including Congress President Sonia Gandhi," who had reached the hospital on January 31 night to enquire about the health of Ahamed, who had passed away in the hospital after suffering a heart attack during the President's address to the joint sitting of Parliament.
The IUML leader said had given the notice two days prior to the adjournment of the first part of the Budget Session.
Besides Sonia Gandhi, other leaders including Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel and MPs from Kerala had reached the hospital coinciding with the complaint by Ahamed's family that the hospital authorities were not allowing them to meet the former union minister.
Ahamed died at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on February 1.
During the session, the Congress-led opposition had disrupted the Lok Sabha proceedings, demanding a probe into the death of the former Union Minister.
The Speaker, however, had rejected the opposition's demand for constitution of a parliamentary panel to probe Ahamed's death.
